Genelia: Remuneration is not a criterion

Genelia D' Souza, the beautiful damsel who has some hits to her credit like 'Boys' and 'Bommarillu', is for the first time acting in a Kannada film called 'Satya in Love' opposite Shivarajkumar.The actress has completed her portion recently in Mantralaya.Filmysouth chats with the 'Bommarillu' beauty regarding her life, career and future projects.Q.Hi, What's your role in the film? A.

I play Geetha who respects human values.She is an independent traditional girl yet modern in her thinking.This is a disciplined character.I loved to do this film a lot.Q.

How's it working in the Kannada film industry? A.It's very special and a big honour and privilege for me.The director Raghav Loki contacted me for the role more than a year back.But I was very much busy with other commitments at that time.He waited for me patiently and got my dates when I was free.

I never felt I am a newcomer here.Everyone including Shivrajkumar and Loki helped me a lot.They knew from the beginning what I wanted to do.I thouroughly enjoyed my stay here.Q.

You have acted in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films also.How different is the environment there compared to here? A.I couldn't compare this industry with others because I couldn't find any differences.I enjoyed working here like elsewhere.Q.

Is it true that the film got delayed because of your date hassles? A.No, nothing like that.There was no unnecessary delay from me.I have been working with the team for 40 plus days and very much on the schedule.Q.

How much remuneration plays a role when you accept an offer? A.Remuneration is not at all a criterion for me.It only comes at a later level.It's not the first thing in my agenda.I first look for a good script and a role.

That's why I enjoy my films.Q.Tell us something about your future projects? A.I am doing film for Amir Khan Production and directors like Priyadarshan and Anees Bazmee.I have just wrapped up a Telugu film called 'Mr.

Medhavi'.I am getting a lot of offers from Kannada also.But I couldn't accept any, as I am tight right now.
