Bindaas is disappointing!
Directed by - D Rajendra Babu Produced by - - Music by - Guru Kiran Casts - Puneeth Rajkumar, Hansika Motwani, Nazar, Rahul Dev, Suman, Komal Kumar Banner - - There were rumors that Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Bindaas is a remake of Telugu super hit Pokiri directed by Poori Jagannath.Bindaas is definitely not a remake of Pokiri but it is a remake of Sumanth starrer Dhina 51 along with some shades of Pokiri and some more films.Shivu (Puneeth Rajkumar) is an unemployed youth who is into pick pocketing and black marketing.Though he decides to quit all this and lead a proper life, the police arrest him on wrong charges. He asks the help of ACP Vikram Rathod (Nazar) to help him to get a job.
Rathod asks him to join D and Saleem's gang and become a Police informer.Very soon Shivu becomes the right hand of D.Meanwhile, Shivu falls in love with the ACP's daughter without knowing who she is.Just when everything is right in Shivu’s life, the ACP's daughter comes to know that Shivu is a gangster and hates him.Even the ACP backstabs him by not supporting in the crucial hour of need.
How Shivu convinces and wins over the ACP's daughter apart from destroying all the gangsters forms the climax of the film.Janardhan Maharshi has got the credit in the title card for writing the story. No wonder, Maharshi who is famous for remixing popular stories in one film has taken inputs from films like Pokiri and Dhina 51.Though the film is inspired by many, the director fails to create the same magic those films created. The first half of the film is good.
Second half is tiresome and boring.Though D Rajendra Babu tries to add some more thrills and fights in the second half, yet he fails in making audience sit through. But it is Puneeth who walks easily with all applause.Puneeth is perfect in the role of Shivu. He is great in action sequences particularly, the one at the gymnasium.
Hansika Motwani is cute. But much can’t be expected from her.Nazar, Suman and Rahul Dev are a total waste.Komal Kumar succeeds in making audience laugh once in a while.Technically the film is not much mentioning.
Camera works by Venu has lost its interest.Gurukiran brings you some of his old tunes.Only ‘Gubbachchi Goodinalli’ is hummable.Watch it if you are a Puneeth fan!
