These days it is becoming very difficult to watch Darshan (in a single role) as his movies are nothing but mindless violence and bloodshed. This week's release 'Indra' is yet another which may be fodder for his fans, but is tiresome and cliché-ridden.Want some proof of it? Here is the story.Indra Kumar (Darshan) comes to a Bramhin colony looking for a job in Rama Shastry's house.Indra, as usual, is an obedient young man with a compassionate heart for the hapless.

Everything changes in the colony after he enters. The man of steel and heart of gold stuns everyone in the locality when he kills `Cat’ Rama.Rama Shastry, who loves Indra more than anything in the world, is shattered by this. But Indra has a flashback to explain the sit.In the flashback he is the brother of Rayanna (Darshan, again!) who is the rescuer of the poor in a sea shore.

Rayanna and his wife who are like parents to Indra get killed by a famous Industrialist. In the process Indra is also surrounded by the enemy gang.Indra, who wants to take revenge on the industrialist, escapes to Rama Shastry's house, and lives a life worthy of a saint!  How the `saint’ takes revenge forms the crux of the film.Indra is a remake of 'Chiyan' Vikram's 'Arrasu' which was released a couple of years back in Tamil.Scores of films with this type of subjects have been released till now.

So, the film has nothing new to offer.Overall the film is boring and tiresome except for some action sequences.Only Darshan's hardcore fans can enjoy those sequences, though.Darshan is good in action scenes.Apart from this, his role as Indra is quite sober while Rayanna's role gets worse with Darshan's Tulu (a local language in Karnataka) accent.

Namitha is a treat to watch.Avinash, Vinaya Prakash, Ramesh Bhatt have done their bit.Anand Raj, who is back to Kannada silver screen after a long hiatus, has nothing special to offer.Cameraman Krishna Kumar adds quality to the film but Harikrishna's songs are average presentation.Watch it only if you are an ossified Darshan fan.
