Satya in love tests your patience
Directed by - Raghava Loki Produced by - Ramesh Music by - Gurukiran Casts - Shivarajkumar, Genelia D'souza, Srinath, Vinaya Prakash Banner - - Lots of hopes were pinned on Shivraj Kumar’s much anticipated Satya in Love starring Genelia D'souza as the female lead. But as many opine, the flick is disappointing.Reason? Let us listen to the story line before branding it.Well, Satya (Shivarajkumar) is a happy go lucky young man who has no better business to do apart from hanging around with some silly friends with silly getups. He happens to meet Veda (Genelia D'souza) in Mantrayala under some unexpected circumstances.
He is bowled out over by her beauty, humanity, generosity and what not. From then on Satya falls in love with Veda. But it is not an easy task as Veda is the daughter of Ranga Reddy (Jayaprakash Reddy) of Kurnool who is very famous for his nefarious activities.Satya unaware of Ranga Reddy's background and strength sets out for a journey to Kurnool to ask his daughter's hand. The next one hour is full of electrifying action sequences.
What might happen next is very easy to guess.Firstly the film has got nothing new to offer. It is an ordinary love story which has come umpteen number of time in various languages including Kannada. What made this film to gather a lot of attention was Shivarajkumar's new look, Genelia D'souza's entry to Kannada filmdom and a promising new director like Raghava Loki. But that is not enough to make the audience sit for two and half hours.
Though the film is richly made, it’s an old wine in a new bottle. The tug of war between the Kannadigas and Telugities in the film was unnecessary and could have been avoided.Shivarajkumar looks like a twenty plus hero.He is electrifying in action sequences.Genelia is cute.
But much can't be expected from her.Jayaprakash Reddy looks wooden. The rest of the star cast provides adequate support except the buffoons in the form of Satya's friends who are irritating and who tests your patience.Technically the film is good.Though M R Seenu's camerawork is of average in the first half, he is surely gets hold of your attention in the second half, especially while picturing the dry lands of Andhra Pradesh.
Gurukiran gives a couple of good songs of course with rehashed tunes.Watch it if you are a hardcore Shivarajkumar fan!
