Vangough or Suri?
Directed by - Soori Produced by - Soori Talkies Music by - Sadhu Kokila Casts - Krishna, Bhavana, Sonu, Rangayana Raghu Banner - - Earlier, it was rumoured that 'Inthi Ninna Preethiya', a Suri film, is based on Vincent Vangough's biography.Later it is said that it’s indeed Suri's autobiography. One is tempted to keep both versions because 'Inthi Ninna Preethiya' is a tragic story of a talented painter who gets into drinking habits when he loses his love to another.Rajeev (Kitti) is a painter who has a small world of his own.He is surrounded by Seenappa (Rangayana Raghu), a mortuary van driver, Cheluvayya (Arun Sagar) a post mortem expert, Muruga, a painter, and above all his love Namana (Sonu).
Somehow Namana happens to leave Rajeev and marry someone else.Unable to cope up with the situation, Rajeev hits the bottle. The rest of the story deals with what Rajeev face in his life as a compulsive drinker.'Inthi Ninna Preethiya' is a much awaited film from the maker of last year's super hit film 'Duniya'.Suri, apart from directing the film is also in charge of the script and dialogues.
He creates the ambience beautifully with perfect detailing, composes the frames with grater degree of authenticity and artistic values.Suri and Cinematographer Satya Hegde has really worked very hard in composing each and every frame of the film. The main problem of the film is its story.Suri doesn't have much to tell in the entire film.Particularly the second half of the film has no chain of events and falls flat.
Though the film sends a strong message against alcoholic addiction, it does not address the problems of addiction nor the reformation process nor the problems faced by the family members of the addicted.Somehow, it really gets irritating to see the hero of the film sticking on to drinking and drinking without any goal in his life. But, kudos to Suri for taking such a bold subject.Apart from Suri and Satya Hegde it is Kitty who takes all applause. He is brilliant in the role of a tragic but yet talented painter.
Sonu can't ask for a greater debut than this.Bhavana is great as a subdued wife.Rangayana Raghu, Kishore, Arun Sagar, Preethi Chandrashekar, Namitha are superb in their roles.Particularly Rangayana Raghu who is famous for blabbering plays a dumb character in this film.Sadhu gives some hummable songs.
Particularly 'Endu endu mugiyada' and 'Madhuvana Karedare' are top class presentation.
