Debutante director Krishnakumar discusses in his film ‘Chithrashalabhangalude Veedu’ the factors that influence children in their formative years. And for this, quite obviously, he has made children the central character in the film. But the film is not a children’s film, but for grown-ups too.‘Chithrashalabhangalude Veedu’ has as its lead character a young boy named Kunjimuththu, called by everyone as Muththu.Muththu studies in the tenth standard and is a real head-ache to the school authorities. He and his friends, all naughty to the core, have been creating problems in the school on and off.And the school authorities have always been looking for an opportunity to get rid of Muththu. Then one day, the school authorities get this much awaited chance, when the cops come seeking Muththu.Though most of the staff-members and others choose to accept Muththu’s dismissal as the natural consequence of his naughty ways and even welcome it, there is someone who stops to think from the side of the boy.And that someone is a teacher named Suja.Suja questions the school authorities and speaks for Muththu. The rest of the film focuses mainly on the relationship that evolves between the understanding and caring teacher and the naughty student.‘Chithrashalabhangalude Veedu’ attempts an analysis of the various circumstances that influence and mould the personality and nature of children. The film also endeavours to portray how society often tends to neglect and misunderstand children, thereby causing serious offence against them in their formative years. The character of Kunjimuththu is played on screen by Master Ganapathy, who had earlier acted in ‘Vinodayathra’, ‘Alibhai’, ‘Innaththe Chinthavishayam’ etc.Lakshmi Sharma, who debuted with ‘Palunku’ and was later seen in ‘Nagaram’, ‘Ayurrekha’ etc, does the role of Suja teacher while ‘Arabikatha’ fame Sivaji Guruvayoor becomes the school headmaster.Manraj, who is getting busier these days, dons the role of a teacher named Sethu.‘Chithrashalabhangalude Veedu’ will hits screens on the 26th of September.
