Directed by - Major Ravi Produced by - Santhosh Damodar Music by - Siddharth Bipin Casts - Mohanlal, Sania Singh, Biju Menon, Siddique, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Anjana, Cochin Haneefa, etc, After ‘Keerthichakra’ and ‘Mission 90 Days’, Major Ravi once again strikes with ‘Kurukshetra’, produced by leading producer Santhosh Damodar, who is also acting in the movie.‘Kurukshetra’, in which Mohanlal plays Colonel Mahadevan of the Indian army, is an account of the battle at Kargil, which took place in 1999.The film recounts how the Indian army put up a brave fight in the face of adverse circumstances.‘Kurukshetra’ is reportedly not just an account of the day to day activities on the battlefront; it also strives to focus on the human aspect of war as a whole.Major Ravi, the director, who was earlier working in the army, has sought to focus on the various aspects related to war.
The film even speaks about the colossal amount of money that has to be spent on a war and also on the losses in terms of human lives that’s incurred in the course of a war.The emphasis on the human aspect of war however is without losing out on the patriotic fervor, which is very much integral to a war movie of this genre.‘Kurukshetra’ has been filmed on locations in Kargil, and that too in the most adverse of climatic conditions.The highlight of the film is an impressive array of artists from the South as well as the North, plus music by debutante Siddharth Bipin, who sets to tune songs penned by Gireesh Puthencherry.The film has reportedly been made at a budget of Rs.
Seven Crores, a big budget for a Malayalam movie.‘Kurukshetra’ is scheduled to release on the 1st of October.
