Surya - Jyothika's baby is named Diya

Suriya, who has been recently promoted as a father of a lovely baby girl, announced in a function today (August 18, 2007) that his baby is named as Diya.The sensational young hero made this announcement with great pleasure and proud.The occasion was the function to give cash awards to the successful and economically deserving students by Sri Sivakumar Education Trust and Agaram Foundation.The function was held in South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce before the audiences that included the parents of the students and lot of media persons.Agaram Foundation is a trust started to increase and improve children’s education across Tamilnadu.

Sri Sivakumar Education Trust, which is the mother institution for the betterment of society, has been functioning for 28 years.The trust has been giving cash awards to many deserving students, including physically challenged ones.Total cash award given to the students in the function was Rs.1,35,000.Suriya took the opportunity to announce the name of his daughter during his speech.

He also told with a shining smile on his face that both Diya and Jyotika are doing fine.The actor told in an informal chat with the media persons after the function that the name of the baby was Jyothika’s choice.“Diya looks like me at present but I will be happier if she resembles Jo in future” said Suriya with a blushing smile.
