Kireedam does shine, but…

Directed by - Vijay Anand

Music by - G.V. Prakash

Casts - Ajith, Trisha, rajkiran

Banner - Sujatha Cine Arts and Ad Labs

Kireedam, to its credit, has some brilliant performances.

Rajkiran steals the show with his experience and vigour. His facial expressions and body language are amazing and he almost assumes the stature of a second hero in the movie.Ajith, with his casual looks in the first half, is smart and handsome.Somehow, he becomes slightly rigid once his character becomes serious. His body language doesn’t seem to be adequate during intense scenes.

However, he exudes intensity and grit in the fight sequences.Though he struggles to emote well in poignant situations, he succeeds in the climax when he bursts into tears.Trisha’s new role in the movie is a revelation. The girl, who looks stunning, has come out with her best performance so far.She enlivens the screen by her vibrant presence and performance.

Her hand at comedy has turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Her on screen chemistry with Ajith is wonderful.Though the songs are not up to the mark, G.V.Prakash should be given credit for the background score.

Two songs – ‘Akkam Pakkam’ and ‘Kanavellam’ - are soothing to the ears.Thirru’s cinematography is one of the highlights of the movie. He has done exceptionally well in the song ‘Akkam Pakkam’ and in the climax.Overall, the film is an appreciable effort despite the questionable approach of the director towards the subject.Kudos to Vijay, who has shown maturity and command over the medium in his very first venture.
