The story revolves around the issue of casting couch in films. It throws light on the darker side of the glittery world of showbiz. The movie depicts the confusion and dilemma of an actress caught between the realities of her real life and her on screen persona.
Nana Patekar plays the role of a director and Arjun appears as an investigating officer. Kajal Agarwal does the role of the actress. A mysterious murder forms the focal point of the film. Bharathiraja claims that he has ensured that the film comes off as a stunning thriller without showing blood or gory scenes. He also adds that the climax would be real shocking to the viewers.
The movie introduces the much talented Nana Patekar to Kollywood. Another highlight of ‘Bommalattam’ is that it is the first Tamil movie that Bollywood music director Himesh Reshammiya had signed, though it was Kamal Hasan’s ‘Dasavatharam’, for which also he has scored music, which was released first.
