Directed by - Jeeva Produced by - Media One Global (P) Ltd – Metro Films Music by - Harris Jayaraj Casts - Kangna Ranaut, Chetan, Jayaram etc. Starring - Jeyam' Ravi, Lakshmi Sharma Director (Late) Jeeva was a refreshing talent, remembered for his films like ‘12-B’, ‘Ullam Ketkumae’ and ‘Unnale Unnale’.‘Dhaam Dhoom’, unfortunately, has become his last venture as he passed away in Moscow last year just before completing the film.The film is a non-stop action thriller featuring ‘Jeyam’ Ravi (for the first time in this kind of a film), Lakshmi Rai and Bollywood beauty Kangna Ranaut in lead roles.The film begins with a 5-day trip to Russia undertaken by a house surgeon (‘Jeyam’ Ravi) to take part in a Medical conference.A sequence of totally unexpected events lands him in big trouble for no fault of his and makes him run for his life.
Well versed only in Tamil and English, our hero finds himself trapped in Russia, where English language is hardly shown any respect.In this hapless situation, he finally gets help from an unexpected quarter: from the heroine (Lakshmi Rai), a practicing lawyer in Russia, comes to his rescue.It’s not uncommon for the songs of Tamil films to be shot on foreign locations.But, ‘Dhaam Dhoom’ is different in this count.While the entire film has been shot in Russia, songs have been filmed at different locations in India.
The shooting has also been held Pollachi, Hyderabad, Coorg, Thenkasi and Nellai besides Russia.Kangna Ranaut, the not-so-successful star from Bollywood with the looks of a typical urbanite girl, plays the village belle opposite ‘Jeyam’ Ravi.Jeeva’s deftness in changing Kangna’s looks deserves special mention indeed.Screenplay has been designed very stylishly and it won’t let the audience move off their seats.Cinematography by Jeeva, who has also handled the direction, has been done in super 35 mm format.
S.Ramakrishnan has written dialogues for the film.Harris Jayaraj sets to tune songs penned by Pa.Vijay and Na.Muthukumar.
VT Vijayan is the editor while Raju Sundaram and Rekha Chinni Prakash have choreographed songs.Kanal Kannan is the stunt director who has worked alongside Greece Anderson and Thyagarajan.The film was slated to release in January itself but was put off due to some unexpected problems.Director Jeeva’s wife Aneez filled in for her late hubby to complete the film and PC Sriram took care of the remaining camerawork.
