Prakashkumar Casts - Rajnikanth, Pasupathy, Meena, Nayantara, Vadivelu, Livingston, Prabhu Produced under the banner of Kavithalayaa and Seven Arts and directed by P.Vasu, ‘Kuselan’ is the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film ‘Katha Parayumbol’, which had Sreenivasan and Mammootty doing key roles.As the title itself suggests, the story of ‘Kuselan’ revolves around the bond of friendship shared between a poor guy and a rich and famous film-star.Balakrishnan, a poor barber, lives in utter penury.But he is not the kind to do away with his self-respect.
He has his own way in life.And then it so happens that super-star Ashok Kumar comes to Balu’s village for a shoot.Word spreads around that the superstar and Balu have been childhood friends.From here the story takes off.While Rajnikanth becomes Ashok Kumar, Pasupathy plays Balu.
Meera does the role of Balu’s wife.The film also has Nayanthara in a sizzling role and Vadivelu for the sake of comedy.
