'Donga Sachchinollu' drives audience out
Directed by - Raja Vannem Reddy Produced by - J. Sambhasiva Rao, C. Varaprasad Music by - M M Srilekha Casts - Krishna Bhagawan, Raghu Babu, Rambha, Telangana Sakunthala, Chandra Mohan,Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav Rajeev Kanakala and others. Banner - - A weak story, reckless screenplay and take-it-easy direction about sum up film Donga Sachchinollu.Despite casting two ace comedians as heroes co-starring evergreen screen sensation Rambha, director Raja Vannemreddy couldn't bring even a minimum sensibility in the entertainment, almost making the audience run away from the theatre. This is the story of two brothers in a village, Ramudu (Raghu Babu) and Kamudu (Krishna Bhagawan). They live with their parents (Chandra Mohan and Sakunthala).Their naughty and nutty acts become a big headache to the womenfolk in the village and they are jointly branded as 'Donga Sachchinollu', meaning fit for nothing miscreants.
One fine day, their niece Kavya (Rambha), accompanied by her parents arrives in Hyderabad from the USA.Their sister comes to the village and take the brothers along with her to Hyderabad.Giving much importance to family bonds, she wants Kavya to get married to one of her two brothers. At one stage, she even takes a promise from Kavya that she would marry either Ramudu or Kamudu. But by then, she is already in love with Vijay (Rajiv Kanakala).
Adding to the girl's trauma and dismay, her parents die in an accident.Whether Kavya (Rambha) honors the promise to marry one of her two `Dongas’ or she goes for her love Vijay forms the climax.Rambha’s is the crucial role in the film. She gives a clean performance with her energetic dances and sympathetic characterization.Raghu Babu and Krishna Bhagawan play innocent brothers.
The audiences expect them to spill lumps of comedy, but they appear mentally retarded.Even the comedy by Brahmanandams and Stalin is very weak. There is nothing much special about technicality that has been adopted.Everything is below the line.Raja Vannemreddy, known for his hilarious comedy films like Kshemamga Velli Labamga Randi and Aadivaram adavallaku Selavu, has missed his own mark of treatment in this film.
Screenplay and direction have treaded the path of the oldies of 70's and 80's.Music by M M Srilekha is average.First half of the film is dumb, and the second half is more dumb.Picturisation of a couple of songs is good. The film is opened to very weak collections and no publicity.
The flick has no stamina to entertain any of the audience segments.
