Saikiran Adivi’s maiden venture Vinayakudu is a low-key movie with relatively new faces. The film deals with a roly-poly boy’s love for a sophisticated, assertive woman working in the same ad agency and living in the same apartment complex. Following the stereotypes of Indian romances, Kalpana (Sonia) and Karthik (Krishnudu) don't like each other but are thrown together at different times. Added to that their friends, Altaf (Suryatej) and Sandhya enter into a relationship. Meanwhile, Kalpana who is engaged to Rajeev (Samrat) realizes that he may not be the right man for her. Watch the movie to find out how fat this 'big fat love story' really is. With a chubby hero, and a very independent-minded heroine, this movie sparkles with its subtlety of characterization. Saikiran Adivi has executed the scenes carefully, sprinkling the right dialogues in the screenplay. Krishnudu as a happy-go-lucky is a pure natural. Sonia has breezed through her performance and the director has extracted adequate performances from Suryatej and Poonam Kaur. The songs are not that memorable but on a whole the movie is very good. This film has come as a welcome breath of fresh air in the Telugu film industry.
