Pooja Gandhi: “I am satisfied in all ways”
Ask who is the busiest heroine in Kannada tinsel town and many hands points towards Pooja Gandhi aka Sanjana Gandhi. The Sindhi lass is extremely busy after the mega success of 'Mungaaru Male' and has been on a signing spree of late. The 'Male' girl has a good number of films in her kitty and has been working against all the top stars from Puneeth Rajkumar, Upendra, Ravichandran to some newcomers. Not only is she fast in signing Kannada films but also busy in learning Kannada.Recently Pooja Gandhi had come to the Muhurath of 'Balli' in which her younger sibling Radhika Gandhi is making her debut as a female lead.
Excerpts from the Interview:
You came to Kannada as Sanjana Gandhi.
Now you are Pooja Gandhi. How come?
Actually my real name is Pooja Gandhi. When I was working in a Tamil film called 'Kokki', the team rechristined me as Sanjana Gandhi.Later I continued with the same name in Kannada also.
But I don't like to be called Sanjana Gandhi.Pooja has success and positiveness in itself. That's why I came back to my previous name.
How's life going on in Kannada?
Very good.Career after ‘Mungaru Male’ is very attractive. I am satisfied in all ways.Money, comfort and roles are too good for me.I have signed some good projects. You had some brief stints in films like 'Manmatha' and 'Milana'.
Is it necessary for cameos like that at such a time in your career?
Though my roles are very short in both the films, my presence is strongly felt.
That's why I accepted the two offers. Moreover I always wanted to be a part of Puneeth Rajkumar's film.I just did the film because of the team.Though I had a short role, my portion and moreover the song was very good. That's why I opted to do that film.
Your future projects?
I have many films lined up for release.Among them the first to be released is 'Krishna' opposite Ganesha. The film is expected to hit the theatres on October 5.After that 'Hani Hani' and 'Kodagana Koli Nungitta' will be released.I have also signed 'Tata Birla', 'Buddhivanta', 'Accident', 'Ganga-Cauvery'.
A few more projects are in the pipeline.I have yet to decide on them.
