Vijay Raghavendra returns with Ganesha
Vijay Raghavendra shot in to stardom in his first appearance with super hit film Ninagagi.Vijay is neither a new comer nor at the top of the chart now. After his first film, he has given hits like Khushi, Rishi and Sevanthi Sevanthi, but could not quite catch the attention of the audience.Vijay Raghavendra took up acting in a very young age.Chalisuva Modagalu is his first film as a child artist, but he shot in to recognition with Chinnari Mutta, a Nagabharana film, that won so many awards.
Ninagagi is his first film as a hero and no looking back for him from then onwards.Though, his films not doing well at the box office lately, Vijay is confident of his latest film Ganesha Matte Banda. His father Chinnegowda is producing the film.Phani Ramachandra, who has given hits like Ganeshana Maduve, Ganeshana Galate, is the director.
What is the USP of your latest film, Ganesha Matte Banda?
Dialogues. The energy is generated basically from the dialogues and contrasting characters.I do not brand this as a realistic film, but this is a film one can relate himself with.
How do you feel about your character in this film?
I am not a hero here.I am one among the characters, playing the role of Ganesha, who has come from an inaccessible township, far away from exasperating Bangalore crowd. The director treated the entire subject with the touch of humor and I am, in fact, playing a full time comedy role for the first time.
It has been a learning experience for me and hope people would enjoy it.Kannada film industry is now full of beans with different kinds of films.
How do you see the prospect of the film on the milieu of this?
We did this film with fair bit of confidence, because Phani was very successful with his Ganesha series earlier. But, we have not followed the same rule, sightless.I can assure you, this is a contemporary story with Phani's signature. So be ready for the fun!
Tell us about your character in Minchina Ota?
Different, very dissimilar from the ones I have done earlier.Minchina Ota, is a more realistic kind of film compare to my previous films.Director Ramesh has tried the best to extract acting skills out of me.
Did your latest release Beladingalagi Baa, disappoint you?
As far as box office results were concerned it's a disappointment. Same time, cinema has got good reviews; people liked my character and songs that did well in the audio market. Still, I feel, the film could have been better.
How do you approach your character?
I look for different shades in the character and improvise while delivering the dialogues.Apart from this I work on looks of the character.
Why did you stick to the rugged look after Rishi?
I was skeptical before building the rugged look for the film, but people liked it.Directors liked it.This look, I believe, will give me more options as an actor.
When is Ganesha Matte Banda, listed to release?
Perhaps in the last week of March or first week of April.
Tell us something about your next ventures?
Right now, I am, acting in Minchina Ota and discussion is on for the next venture.Nothing has been finalised yet as I have to be cautious while accepting the roles
