Asha Bhosle to sing in Kannada

Asha Bhosle, who has been active in playback singing for the past six decades and has lent her voice to songs in more than 14 languages, is all set to make her debut in Kannada. She will be singing for E. Krishnappa’s 'Mathe Mungaru'.

It comes as a surprise that Asha Bhosle, who has sung in Assamese, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, English, Russian, Czech, Nepali, Malay and Malayalam, has not yet sung a Kannada song.

She was supposed to debut in Sandalwood with a song for Pratap Gowda’s 'Udyan Express', but that didn’t work out. E. Krishnappa made history with his first production, 'Mungaru Male', starring Golden Ganesh in the lead. His last release, 'Moggina Manasu', also was a hit and it went on to bag five Filmfare awards as well.
