Celina Jaitley in 'Srimathi'

Bollywood siren Celina Jaitley will debut in Kannada with Upendra's 'Shrimathi'. This is her second film in the South, 'Suryam' being the first.

'Shrimathi' is a remake of Hindi hit 'Aitraaz', starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. Upendra and his wife Priyanka will be playing a couple for the first time in this film. Priyanka Chopra, who bagged the Filmfare Best Villain award for her outstanding performance as the seductress in 'Aitraaz', has been replaced by Celina Jaitley in the Kannada version.

Celina said this is the first time she is playing such a powerful character in her career. 'My role in the film has both glamour quotient as well as acting potential," says Celina.

The film, directed by Sampath Nandi and produced by Shankar, is in its final schedule.
