Is 'Gokula' inspired by 'Golmaal'?
Sandalwood is abuzz with rumours that 'Gokula' is a rip off of of Hindi super hit 'Golmaal', starring Ajay Devgan and Arshad Warsi in the lead. The Kannada film, starring Vijaya Raghavendra and Yash in important roles, tells the story of four orphans and an aged couple, a theme very similar to that of 'Golmaal'.
But, director Prakash denies the rumours. "The film has nothing to do with 'Golmaal'. The film is neither a remake nor inspired by any other film or incident. The film tells the story of how four orphans who are just out of an orphanage survive in the society. The story is not about their struggle but about how they start their life afresh. An aged couple enters their lives and how they get attached to them is the story," says Prakash.
Earlier Prakash had directed 'Rishi' and 'Milana' which were loosely inspired from 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', respectively.
