Gowri Munjal in Mammootty film

Gowri Munjal will pair up with Mollywood superstar Mammootty in 'Palery Manikyam', an investigative thriller directed by Ranjith. This is the first film in Malayalam for the popular actress in Tollywood and Sandalwood.

Recently, Gowri announced this at a press meet in Bangalore and said that she was proud to bag the chance to work with Mammootty in a meaningful movie.

'Palery Manikyam' is based on the novel, 'Palery Maanikyam - Oru Paathira Kolapathakathinte Katha', by T.P. Rajeevan. The story is about a real incident wherein a woman was brutally raped and murdered.

Mammootty plays a double role in 'Palery Manikkam': as a CBI officer who re-investigates the case and as a Muslim landlord who was involved in the crime.
