Priya moves Court over film subsidy

Actress Priya Hassan has approached the Karnataka High Court questioning the norms of selection of films for state subsidy. The court has admitted her petition and has directed the State Government to come clean on subsidy norms.

Priya, who was upset about her film 'Jambada Hudugi' not getting any awards last year, is miffed at the subsidy committee for not considering her film for grant.

The Government had formed a committee headed by veteran director Siddalingaiah. The committee saw 70 odd films and had granted subsidy to about 20 films. Many producers and directors, including Priya, were upset that their films had been left out.
