Shruthi sacked from KWDC

Shruthi has been sacked from the post of the chairperson of Karnataka Women's Development Corporation. It seems, her ouster by the BJP government has something to do with her personal life. She has been in the news for moving the court to divorce her director-husband Mahendar.

Shruthi's decision to divorce Mahendar attracted criticism from not only by the public and the opposition parties, but also from her own party. However, the party stood by her saying that she doesn’t have to pay the price for announcing divorce and it is purely her personal decision to do so.

But the Party leadership finally decided that the continuance of Shruthi would damage the image of the ruling party. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa decided to sack Shruthi on Monday evening. The department's secretary D S Ashwath has been given the additional charge as the chairperson in place of Shruthi.
