Abhay

Genre - Action

Directed by - anardhan Maharshi

Music by - Hari Krishna

Casts - Om Prakash Rao, Pradeep Rawat, Sangeetha and Suresh Mangalore

Starring - Darshan, Aarthi Agarwal

'Abhay', starring Darshan and Aarthi Agarwal in the lead, is a typical Janardhan Maharshi rehash. The film is mainly inspired from Siddharth-Ileana starrer 'Aata'; ingredients from other successful films have also been incorporated. Maharshi's earlier films such as 'Bombaat' and 'Bindaas' also had stories borrowed from the same film. Looks like Maharshi is not yet fed up of playing 'Aata' (games)!

'Abhay' tells the story of a fearless youth who meets Aarthi on a flight to Amsterdam. The girl catches his eye as she is wearing. Abhay, who falls for her at the first sight itself, follows her to Amsterdam. Aarthi tells him about her troubled past; she was forcibly engaged to a man, an MLA’s brother, who raped a girl in front of her. And there starts the movie in full swing.

Janardhan Maharshi and writer Mahesh Babu fail to impress the audience. The first half of the film is really boring. No doubt, the film is strictly for Darshan's fans. Darshan is lively as usual in his portrayal of Abhay. Aarthi Agarwal looks very serious throughout, even when she is smiling. Pradeep Rawat looks wooden. Omprakash is successful in pleasing the front benchers with his antics.

Ramesh Babu's camera work and Harikrishna's music have nothing special to boast off.
