The rumours that the plot of Malashree starrer 'Kannada Kiran Bedi' is similar to Sudeep starrer 'Ee Shatamanada Veera Madakari', released two weeks ago, have turned out to be true. 'Kiran Bedi' is the 'female' version of 'Veera Madakari', indeed! The only highlght of the film by Omprakash Rao is the brilliant performance in the title role by Malashree.

To be more precise, both films are inspired by the same film, Ravi Teja starrer 'Vikramarkudu' in Telugu. Though the film was supposed to be based on the life story of former cop Kiran Bedi, the film has nothing to with her.

The plot of 'Kiran Bedi' is something we are very familiar with: a daredevil police officer taking on a deadly criminal gang. Malashree plays a double role--that of the Police officer and a cheat who looks like her.

Action sequences have been given topmost priority and they have been shot exquisitely. Malashree is brilliant as the tough cop and she excels in action sequences. It is her performance that may save the film at the boxoffice.

Apart from technical aspects like stunts by Palaniraj, camera work by Vishnuvardhan there is nothing spectacular about this movie as a whole.

Sreenivasa Murthy, in the role of Kiran Bedi's father, comes in for great appreciation. Ashish Vidyarthi, Jeevi and Rangayana Raghu have done their bit as the villains. Sucheendra Prasad shines in a cameo.
