'Rajani'
Genre - Action Directed by - "Thriller" Manju Music by - Hamsalekha Casts - Mukul Dev, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Ramesh Bhat and Doddanna Starring - Upendra, Aarthi Chabria Nobody had high expectations on 'Rajani' starring Upendra and Aarti Chhabria in lead roles, as the original film, Ravi Teja starrer 'Krishna' was just an average grosser in Telugu. But 'Rajani' is surely going to rock.
'Rajani' is a huge entertainer and it has all the ingredients to please the Kannada audience. Though the film is directed by stunt master- turned-director Thriller Manju, equal emphasis has been given to comedy, which is what gels with the audience. The comedy in the film may be crass and crude, yet it doesn't fail to bring a chuckle on the face of the viewer. The story is about a happy-go-lucky guy Rajani (Upendra) who falls in love with Sandhya (Aarti Chhabria), the sister of a popular builder and a mafia man. Meanwhile, another don Jakka (Mukul Dev) also falls for the same girl and wants to marry her against her wishes. The film is all about how the hero puts an end to the don and marries the girl.
Upendra plays a typical commercial film hero. Upendra is at ease in his role; he excels in action as well as comedy.
Rangayana Raghu’s amazing timing really makes one laugh. Sadhu Kokila, Doddanna, Bullet Prakash, Ramesh Bhatt have also done their best. Mukul Dev is a villain to watch out for. Aarti Chhabria is sure to please the front benchers with her glamour show.
Like the Telugu original, the film has great production values. The fights have been composed very well. Hamsalekha is sure going to rock with his 'Tiruboki' song this year. The rest of the songs are surprisingly different from his usual compositions.
