The 'Savaari' to discover oneself!
Genre - Romance Directed by - Jacob Verghese Produced by - Ramoji Rao Music by - Manikanth Kadri Casts - Suman Ranganath, Sadhu Kokila, Dinesh Mangalore, Milind Gunaji, C R Simha, Dattatreya, Lokanath Starring - Raghu Mukherjee, Srinagar Kitty, Kamalini Mukherjee Jacob Verghese's 'Savaari' is a remake of Telugu hit 'Gamyam'. The film looks like having been inspired from Che Guevara’s 'Motorcycle Diaries'; the story is about two people discovering their inner selves during a journey. Abhiram (Raghu Mukherjee) is a filthy Richie rich, who falls in love with Doctor Janaki (Kamalinee Mukherjee). Janaki is an idealistic girl who likes to do social service. She treats her patients with love and care. Abhiram loves Janaki, but not her noble traits. Caught in these conflicting interests, they are forced to separate. The rest of the story is about Abhiram's journey in search of his beloved. A thief called Gaali Seenu (Srinagar Kitty) joins him on the way. The two discover their inner souls in the course of the travel in their own ways. The storyline is very delicate and the film depends heavily on the screenplay. Though the film is a good watch, some scenes appear unnecessary. Some sequences are too preachy. The comedy track of Sadhu Kokila is distractive and appears unnecessary when placed in the totality of the script. But for a few distractions, the film is a good watch. Raghu Mukherjee gives a good performance in the role of Abhiram. But it is Srinagar Kitty who hogs the limelight throughout the film. The character of ’Gaali Seenu’ suits him perfectly and he is at his best. Kamalinee Mukherjee has not much to do in the film, though the story revolves around her. It is dialogue writer Manju Mandavya who gets all the applause. Though most of the dialogues are taken from the original script, his one-liners for Srinagara Kitty are very good. Two songs by Manikanth Kadri are hummable.
