'Yajna': Horrible!

Nobody had expected much from 'Yajna', a film by Krishna Bramha of 'Maharshi' fame. The director’s second effort also is very pathetic; the supposedly horror film ends up being a horrible film!

Murali plays a rowdy who kills baddies like quashing insects! He is assigned to ‘capture’ a big mansion in the outskirts of the city. He, along with his friends, moves in there. Some girls, including the heroine (Priyanka), come there with a secret mission. Slowly, everybody except the hero, finds that the mansion is infested with ghosts. They soon vacate the house leaving only the hero and the heroine to fend for themselves. All sorts of weird things occur inside the mansion. How the hero fights the evil forces forms the rest of the story.

The director could have made a decent horror film with this plot. But he ends up making an atrocious film with lots of twists, turns and unnecessary confusions. Continuity lapses galore in the movie.

It’s a waste of time discussing the technical aspects of this rank bad film. A quality artiste like M S Narayan is wasted in the film.
