After many hit films such as 'Ayya', 'Kalasipalya' and 'Mandya', the Darshan-Omprakash combination is back with a full-on mass masala. The film, a remake of Tamil hit 'Bose', is a typical Darshan film with lots of action, sentiment and heroism.

Darshan plays a Black Cat commando, 'Ram', in the film. The story starts with Ram rescuing a minister from Jihadis. He is made the personal security guard of the minister in appreciation of his bravery. There starts the story, full of unexpected twists and turns and high voltage action.

Nikitha plays the female lead. The hero, busy with numerous stunts, finds time to dance with the heroine in four songs.

'Yodha' is mainly intended for Darshan's fans and the hero doesn't fail his fans' expectations. There are loud action sequences, slapstick comedy, sentiments, and "incredible" heroism enough to satisfy a hardcore Darshan fan. The second half of the film is a test of patience for the viewer: It is too lengthy and boring.

Veteran artistes Srinivasamurthy and Avinash have performed commendably. Ashish Vidyarthi, as the minister, is too loud. Hamsalekha, who is back after a short gap, has nothing new to offer. Cinematography by Vishnuvardhan is exceptionally good.
