‘If not films, I’d be a teacher, says Sandhya

The Malayali girl Sandhya had shot into fame with the success of Tamil film Kadhal.Now she is a top heroine of Tamil filmdom.Ironically, though she has won many awards including the state film award of Tamil Nadu, she is not much known to Keralites.But, now she is familiar to them via Johny Antony’s `Cycle’, as lead female actor.She has got one more Malayalam film, D-17 in her kitty.She speaks about her films, roles, and life to Filmysouth.

• How did you get the chance in Cycle?

When I was in Aluva, Mr Jhony Antony asked for my photos and he selected me for Cycle.After listening to the story I decided to do the character of Meenakshi.

• You have done many Tamil films and a Telugu film too.How do you feel acting in Malayalam?

I like to act in Malayalam movies.If I got good themes and characters I will act in any language.I put all the efforts to make the role catchy.In Tamil I have received many good roles.It is my luck that I was able to act in Cycle.

• How do you spend your leisure time?

I watch TV, Cinema and will read books.
Sometimes I will spend my leisure time with friends.

• If you were not into acting, what else you’d have become?
I’d be a good fashion designer or a teacher.• About your family?

Mother Maya and father Ajith.Father works in a bank.I have a brother, who is doing M.B.A.

• What is your new project?

Now I am working in ‘Mahesh Saranya Mattu Palar’.Shakthi is the hero for that and also a film with Prasanna, under the AVM productions.In Malayalam I have `D-17’ on my hand.
