'Tamil film ‘Valmeeki’ is my next’: Meera Nandan

Meera Nandan, the latest Malayalam heroine introduced by Lal Jose in 'Mulla', is winning many fans for her debut performance.She has the looks of a typical Malayali beauty and has an easy acting style.She is happy with her debut film’s success and is now getting offers to act in Tamil films.Meera shares her plans for the future with filmy south.

How did you get the chance to act in Mulla?

I was anchoring Idea Star Singer, the reality show in Asia net.
At that time, Lal Jose sir was searching for a new face for ‘Mulla’.Actor Indrajith’s wife Poornima introduced me to Lal sir.Kavya Madhavan and Samvritha Sunil also recommended me for Mulla

Did you think of becomming a film star earlier?

Never.As a Plus Two student, I couldn't have imagined becoming a film star or acting as a heroine in a Lal Jose film.I couldn’t believe it firts, when I got the call for acting in Mulla.

Now that I was able to distinguish myself in the film, I feel so happy.What did you feel when your saw Mulla?

I have seen Mulla two times in theatre.The first time, I saw it at Savitha Theatre, Ernakulam with my family.I felt so glad when people identified me.I tried my level best to get into the skin of my charecter ‘Lachi’ in Mulla.

We hear that you have named your new house ‘Mulla’?

Yes.It is true.Mulla has brought a change in my life, so I decided to give that name to my new house.It is build near our old Tarawad.The house warming was on March 27, which was also the releasing day of ‘Mulla’.

About your new projects?

Director Anantha Naraysanan’s Tamil film ‘Valmeeki’ is my new project.In this film I am the heroine and play the role of a village girl.The hero of the film is Hari, son of Ilayaraja’s brother.Its shooting will start next month in Chennai.
