Lal Jose’s next film is with Dhanush

Lal Jose is a talented director who has 11 films to his credit in a span of 10 years.Each of his films is different and fresh.Beginning with his maiden film with Mammooty in the lead, `Oru Maruvathur Kanavu’ to the latest Dileep-starrer `Mulla’, he has been giving special importance to visual beauty and theme.After Mulla, he is busy with a new project.

• Tell us about your new project one is a Tamil film, scripted by James Albert.Its theme is about a village which has no source of water.Location for this film will be Kovilpetty near Thoothukkudi.

• Who plays the lead in this?

I want Dhanush.If the dates will not match, then only I’ll think of a new face, may be a fresher.Its producer is a native of Tamil Nadu and settled in Dubai.He is a fan of my films.


• How is the progress of the movie Cousins?

As soon as I finish this Tamil film, I will start a Mohanlal film, `Cousins’.This movie is scripted by Iqbal Kuttippuram, the script writer of Arabikkatha.

• How do you rate Mulla?

Its story is about a colony, where the Goondas live.Dileep and Meera Nandan performed well in Mulla.Biju Menon’s performance as gang leader Ambi Annan is remarkable.This film is making good collection in Kerala theatres

• What made you to choose Meera Nandan for Mulla?

Poornima Indrajith introduced Meera to me.Samvritha Sunil Said to me to watch Idea Star Singer.I like her anchoring style and selected her as the heroine of my film.

• You have introduced a lot of new faces, like Meera Nandan…

First, I had introduced Jyothirmayi through Meesha Madhavan, Samvritha Sunil in Rasikan, Muktha in Achanurangatha Veedu, and Anil Panachuran as bard in Arabikkadha and the music director Biji Pal.

• About your family

My wife Leena is a teacher and we have two daughters, Irene and Katharine.Irene’s pet name is ‘Lachu’, and I have given this name to the character of Meera Nandan in Mulla.
