'Bullet': Thriller-meets-Musical!

Q. So, what it ‘Bullet’ all about?
-It’s an action flick, investigative thriller and a musical too.

Q. An unusual combination! Could you explain that?
- The story is set against the backdrop of television reality shows and hence there is much of music in it. Thus the film is a musical. And then there is a murder taking place and investigation and related things coming in.

Q. Who are the key players?
-Suresh Gopi and Kalabhavan Mani. Pavithra is the heroine. And also in the cast are popular stars like Udayathara, Cochin Haneefa, Rajan.P.Dev, Devan, Manraj, Indrans, Usha, Ponnamma Babu etc.

Q. Tell us about the characters donned by the key players.
-Suresh Gopi plays Patteri, an enigmatic character robed as a swami, a sanyasi. Kalabhavan Mani plays Wahid Abdul Rahman, a police officer. He too has a decisive role to play in the development of the plot.

Q. ‘Bullet’ for you is sort of a comeback vehicle. Why chose to begin your second innings with a big-budget, star-oriented flick compared to the low-budget ones you used to do earlier?
-What I used to do then was what we call ‘the need of the hour’. Similar is the case with what I am doing now too. We need to change with the times.

Q. What other plans have you got for your second innings?
- I have already completed another Suresh Gopi-starrer ‘Boss’, which will be released soon. Some other projects too are coming up.

Q. ‘Boss’- another Suresh Gopi brand of thriller. Isn’t it?
- Not at all. ‘Boss’ is in fact an entertainer of sorts, revolving around two different groups of goondas and set against the backdrop of Kochi. The film also has Vasundhara Das playing a key role, that of a film actress.
