Adoor Bhavani passes away

Veteran Malayalam actress Adoor Bhavani (85) died Sunday afternoon at her home in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala. The actress, known for her natural performances, had acted in more than 500 films in a career spanning more than five decades. Her only son Rajiv was by her side when she breathed her last.

It was Thikkurissi who spotted her while she was accompanying her sister Adoor Pankajam to the location of 'Sariyoo Thettoo'. She was offered a role in the film on the spot and she grabbed the chance. Since then, there was no looking back for the talented artiste.

Her most memorable role, arguably, was in 'Chemmeen'. She received the State Award for the second best actress for her performance in 'Kallichellama'.
