Adoor film bags five state awards

Adoor Gopalakrishnan's 'Oru Pennum Randu Anum' won five main awards at the Kerala State Film Awards 2008 announced on June 3. Adoor bagged the best director, best film and best screenplay award for "Oru Pennum Randu Anum".

Director-turned-actor Lal won the Best Actor award for his effort in 'Thalapavu', the debut film by actor Madhupal and Priyanka is the Best Actress for her role in 'Vilapangalku Appuarthu'.

The second best actress award (Praveena) and the best sound recordist trophy also went to 'Oru Pennum Randu Anum'.

Kannada filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli, the chairman of the jury, felt that the quality of Malayalam films has gone down.
