Innocent re-elected AMMA president

Innocent has been elected again as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). Though he had expressed his desire to step down, he was elected unanimously for the post the fourth time in a row.

Innocent was happy to see that all artistes in Mollywood stand united. "One thing why I am very happy is that I always wanted that in a body like ours there should be no elections because it could lead to unpleasant situations. We don't need a ruling and an opposition front among ourselves. This shows that we are united and we have no issues at all," he said. Innocent became president of AMMA for the first time in 2000.

16 other functionaries also were elected unanimously. K.B. Ganesh Kumar and Mukesh are the vice-presidents, Mohanlal is the general secretary, Edavela Babu is the secretary and Jagadish is the treasurer.

The new committee will take charge on June 25.
