Lt. Col. Mohanlal!

Mohanlal is all set to join the Territorial Army as Lieutenant Colonel. He is the first actor in the country to get such a prestigious title from the army.

A source close to the actor revealed," An official communiqué has been issued by Ministry of Defence conferring Mohanlal with the unique honour." The source also revealed that Mohanlal will receive the honour in a week's time.

Recently, former India Cricket team captain Kapil Dev was inducted into the Territorial Army after it was cleared at the highest level.

Mohanlal had his first major role as an army officer in Major Ravi's 'Keerthi Chakra'. He followed it up with a sequel, 'Kurukshetra', in 2008.

The superstar is presently shooting for Blessy's 'Bhramaram'.
