'Pazhassi Raja' to release on October 16

Mammootty starrer period film 'Pazhassi Raja' will finally hit the screens on October 16. This mega budget film on the warrior prince Pazhassi Raja who fought the British forces valiantly in the early years of 19th century, will be released in five languages.

The film, written by MT Vasudevan Nair and directed by Hariharan, will be released in 125 theatres in Kerala. This will be the biggest film release in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Other important members of the cast include Sarath Kumar, Kaniha, Padmapriya and Manoj K Jayan.

The film was originally scheduled for release on October 2, but was delayed as the filmmakers wanted to hike the ticket prices for the first week of its release.
