Priyamani loses award by a whisker!

Before the Kerala State Film Awards for 2008 were announced, most of the Malayali film lovers and critics had predicted that Priyamani would walk away with the Best Actress award. Her performance, in the role of an actress through the various stages of her life, in Ranjith's 'Thirakkatha' was that excellent.

But, the award went to Priyanka, for her performance in TV Chandran's 'Vilapangalkkappuram'. Though both the actresses were in the reckoning till the end, it was the "voice" that helped the winner--while Priyanka dubbed in her own voice, Priyamani's was dubbed by a voice artiste.

Though Priyamani is not at all ruffled by the close miss, she has decided to dub in her own voice for all her projects in the future.
