Even young directors in Malayalam seem to be oblivious of the tremendous changes taking place in the world of filmmaking. Rajababu’s latest offering, ‘Colours’, exemplifies this. There is nothing new or colourful about this flick; it is a shameless parade of clichés.

The story is about Dr.Rajalakshmi (Sharanya) and her two daughters Pinki (Roma) and Pooja (Bhama).

Pinki, the anchor of a television show, ‘Colours’, is a prankster and gives her mother many sleepless nights. Pooja is Pinky’s quiet and obedient sibling. Rahul (Vinu Mohan) is Pinki’s cameraman-cum-friend. Dileep makes his entry as Sanjaynath, a navy officer, who falls in love with Pinky.

Roma goes over the top, as usual. It seems she has this tomboy fixation while choosing her characters! Bhama just sleepwalks through the movie. Sharanya delivers a decent performance in the mother’s role. Dileep and Vinu have nothing much to do.

The technicians have done a good job, but that would not save the film from capsizing!
