I want to work with Maniratnam says Kavya.

Kavya Madhvan is very happy now as she has settled down in Kochi. The actress re-assures her presence in Tamil filmdom by the success of Saadhu Miranda, the film directed by Siddiq. She has also started writing lyrics with a song in One Way Ticket.Kavya speaks about her new home, cinema, and dreams to our correspondent.

Why did you decide to settle down in Kochi?

As a film star, I find Kochi an ideal place to live in.
But we have not sold our house at Neeleswaram. We go there often. It seems that you have taken a break from acting for a while…

After my latest Malayalam movie Kangaroo and Tamil film Saadhu Miranda, directed by Siddiq, I took a break to get settled down in my new home. But now I am quite busy.Tell us about your role in Kangaroo and Sadhu Miranda.

There is nothing new in my role in the film Kangaroo; but Priya- my character in Sadhu Mirenda is a bold one.The heroine has a major role in the film. She is an engineering student who starts anchoring on TV as the responsibility of looking after her family falls on her shoulders.I think it’s after a long time that a heroine orientated film is being made in Tamil.

How was the year 2007 for you?

The year 2007 was a prosperous year for me as an actress.
Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Nalu Pennungal and Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri, in which I played major roles, received good response.Though many Malayalam actresses migrated to Tamil filmdom, I was busy here with many projects rejecting offers in the other languages.Actually I am bored of doing the similar charters where I can’t use my caliber as an actor.

Which film do you like most, among the films that you have acted in?

I debuted as a child artist through Pookkalam Varavayi. Azhkiya Ravanan made me familiar to Malayalees. But Chandranudikkunna Dikkil is my favorite film and will always be.

How do you feel about love and marriage?

After my marriage, I would love to be a house wife and might say a big ‘good bye’ to the film field.

What is your most favorite hobby?

Glass painting and making artificial flowers.I also like to read and write poems.Tell us about your new projects.Aswathy art’s ‘Khlabha Mazhaa’, Mohanlal’s ‘Madampi’ and a new film with Sreenivasan are my new projects.Your dream character would be…

The one in Manirathnam’s film.I want to work with him.Let’s see….I keep my fingers crossed.
