Jeeva: “I’ll definitely get an award”
Jeeva was in buoyant mood on the eve of the release of Katrathu Thamil, directed by Ram.The movie hits the screens on 5th of October and Jeeva is in cloud nine.He exuded a lot of confidence when he met the press recently in Chennai.
Excerpts:
How has the film shaped up? It has shaped up very well.In fact, it will be one of the finest films in the history of Tamil films.
How do you rate your performance?
This is easily my best performance thus far.I have sweated a lot.The intensity of the character gave me a lot of mental tension.I had many sleepless nights during the shooting. You have three get ups in the film….Not get ups.Three stages of a man are portrayed and hence I appear in three different looks.
Do you expect award for this film?
Definitely.I have worked really hard. The character is powerful. So I hope I would get award for this film.
What is the movie all about?
It tells you the materialistic value of Tamil education in today’s world. It also tells you the real power of the language. After doing such a serious role, you seem to act in an out and out commercial film like ‘Thenavattu’….Why not? I can’t go on doing serious roles alone.
I want to do a variety of roles. How do you manage to avoid gossips on you?
May be I am not that popular… (Laughs).
