Suriya: Gen Y's Kamal!
The actor, considered by many as the modern day Kamal Haasan, says he will go on experimenting with his roles.
Here is an actor who is ready to go to any extent to make his roles perfect. The passionate artiste is over the moon at the success of ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’, directed by Gautham Menon. Suriya says with conviction that he will continue doing different, experimental roles. In ‘VA’, he played four different roles—an old man, his son, an army officer and a student—capably. Suriya says that when Menon narrated the story to him, it made for good listening, but preparing for each of the roles was very demanding and taxing. But all the pains were gone when the film was released to the appreciation from one and all. He is looking forward to his next film ‘Ayan’, produced by AVM, opposite the beautiful Tamanna. Suriya has always been open to experimentation. He has essayed the role a hunchback in ‘Perazhagan’ a trigger-happy, strict cop in ‘Kakka Kakka’. a happy-go-lucky pickpocket in ‘Pitamagan’ and a man plagued by memory loss in ‘Ghajini’. All these roles have been greatly appreciated by the masses, who consider him as the modern day Kamal Haasan.
