Vishal: “I am not a competition to anybody”

Vishal – the most happening and fast upcoming young actor – is all set to rock the state with his forthcoming film Malaikkotai.Recently he met the press along with director Bhupathy Pandian and heroine Priyamani in the function that marked the release of the trailer of the movie.

Excerpts from the conversation:

There is a title before your name saying ‘Puratchi Thalapathy’ in the trailer.Is this your attempt to compete with Vijay, who is called ‘Ilaya Thalapathy’?

No, no.It is not to compete with Vijay.I am not a competition to anybody.

Who gave you this title?Who else?

My fans and those who have affection in me gave me this title.

Why did you accept this?

I am not sure if I am qualified for this Title.But how can I refuse a title given out of love and affection?
Your previous films like Sandakkozhi, Thimiru, Sivappathigaaram, and Thamirabharani had the southern districts as their backdrop.This one has Thiruchi as its backdrop.

Any special reason?

I have to cover all the regions, isn’t it? Actually these backdrops were just coincidental.In this film, I belong to Pattukkoottai and come to Malaikkoottai due to a case.I have to stay there for quite some time and the movie tells the story of what happen in Malaikkoottai.Your brother marries actress Shreya Reddy.Will you too love an actress and marry her?
So far I haven’t fallen in love with anybody.If I happen to love any girl in future, that might be an airhostess or doctor.

Why not an actress?

Why not? But so far I have no such feelings towards any actress.What is wrong in marrying an actress? Acting is like any other profession.But I haven’t seen any actress in this angle.Tell us about Malaikkoottai.

This is a different movie from the ones I have done so far.In what sense?

I have been concentrating on action so far.Now I have tried my hand in comedy too.

What is your experience with Priyamani?

Priyamani cooperated very well for this film.I can’t dance well.

She was very patient in song sequences when I took a lot of takes.Since she is a tall girl, it was very convenient for me in duet songs. Project?

I am actingin Sathyam, directed by Rajasekar.He was working with director Suresh Krishna.Nayan Tara will be the heroine.
