Balaji of Diamond Pictures has taken it upon himself to revamp MGR's ‘Adimaippenn’ and re-master it, four decades after the film’s release.

The new version will feature DTS sound and is likely to reach screens by the end of the month. Depending on the reception the film gets in the theatres, Balaji may re-release MGR’s ‘Nadodi Mannan’ too.

Released in 1969, K.Shankar-directed Adimaippenn’ has both MGR and Jayalalithaa in double roles. The film was a big success; gripping stunts and lilting music by K.V.Mahadevan were among its highlights.
