Ajmal plays solo lead in ‘Kadhirvel'

Ajmal Ameer, who debuted in Malayalam with ‘Pranayakaalam’ and then moved over to Kollywood, playing a key role in Myshkin’s ‘Anjathay’, is presently acting in ‘Taxi No.4777’ opposite Meenakshi. In ‘Taxi No.4777’, a remake of ‘Taxi No. 9211’, he does a key role along with Pasupathy.

Now, Ajmal has been signed up to play a solo lead in a film to be produced by Babylon Communications. In the film, directed by newcomer Venkat, Ajmal would act opposite Sunaina of ‘Kadhalil Vizhundhaen’ fame.

Titles like ‘Raja Vesham’, ‘Desinguraja’ etc. were considered for the film, but the director has finally zeroed in on ‘Kadhirvel’.

A major attraction of the film is that Vijay Madhav, son of late music director Ravindran, will be making his debut as the music director.

The film is expected to go on the floors from January, 2009.
