Arya to reprise Rajni's role in 'Johnny'?

Arya is reportedly being considered for the lead role in the remake of the Rajnikanth classic, 'Johnny', directed by Mahendran. The remake will be directed by Mahendran's son, John Mahendran.

Though the producers had approached Ajith, he was reportedly not interested. Ajith had starred in one of the biggest ever blockbusters in Tamil, 'Billa', the remake of a Rajni superhit. That was how Arya's name came into reckoning, said insiders.

Arya is having the best phase in his career, it seems. After his much acclaimed performance in Bala's 'Naan Kadavul', he has scored a hit in Vishnuvardhan's 'Sarvvam'. He has signed up for many ambitious projects, including the period movie, 'Madrasapattinam'.
