Dhanush plays a dwarf!

In ‘Padikkadhavan’, Dhanush appears in the get-up of Appu, the famous Kamal Haasan character in ‘Apoorva Sagodharargal’.

The actor has undergone many hardships to make the role natural and convincing, our sources from the sets say.

Director Suraaj, who had been successful in his earlier ventures-- ‘Thalainagaram’ and ‘Maruthamalai’--is back with ‘Padikkadhavan’, starring Dhanush and Tamannaah. He says that ‘Padikkadhavan’ is definitely a cut above his earlier two films.

Dhanush’s character can be identified with many people we come across regularly in our neighbourhood and surroundings, Suraaj insists. He shrugs off any special motive in naming the film after one of the hits of superstar Rajnikanth. Neither did Dhanush ask for this title nor was it purposely chosen, he says.
