Jayam Raja to remake 'Kick'

'Jayam' Raja, the elder brother of 'Jayam' Ravi and one of the most successful directors in Tamil cinema, has secured the remake rights of Telugu hit 'Kick'. Though the film, starring Ravi Teja, Ileana and Shaam, was only an average hit, Raja is convinced that the film will be a blockbuster in Tamil.

Raja was the director of Ravi's debut film 'Jayam', which was a bumper hit; the duo combined to make three more superhits--'Something Something Unakkum Enakkum', 'M. Kumaran, Son of Mahalakshmi' and 'Santosh Subrahmanyam'. Incidentally, all the films directed by Raja have been superhits and all of them were remakes.

Raja plans to cast Vijay as the hero in the remake of 'Kick'. If his dates are not available, Raja will once again turn to his 'thambi' Ravi.
