Mani to play comic villain in 'Endhiran'

Kalabhavan Mani will play a comic villain in Shankar's magnum opus 'Endhiran, the Robot'. The film, starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead, will have enough comedy as in his previous films, say sources from the 'Endhiran' camp. Comedian Santhanam will play an important role in the film. Mani's comic villain in Vikram's 'Gemini' was well appreciated by the masses.

This Shankar film also will be addressing a major social evil. Capitation fee in professional colleges was the issue he dwelt upon in his debut film, 'Gentleman'. 'Sivaji', the last film he directed, dealt with the culture of corruption in high places.

'Endhiran' reportedly addresses the ethical issues that may pop up with the tremendous advance of technology. The film features Rajni in two roles; one of them is a scientist and the other, a robot he created.
