Seeman in jail; ‘Mayandi...’ held up
The shooting for ‘Mayandi Kudumbathar’, directed by Rasu Mathuravan, has been held up as director Seeman is languishing in jail for his provocative speech on Sri Lankan ethnic crisis. The film has ten directors, including Manivannan, Rajkapoor, Nanda Periyasamy, Sundararajan and Manobala, donning the grease paint. Tarun Gopi, who made ‘Kaalai’ and ‘Thimiru’, is the hero. Following the arrest of Seeman, the crew shot the portions not involving the controversial director. Since almost all the sequences that don’t require his presence have been canned, director Rasu Mathuravan is in a dilemma and is reportedly contemplating to replace Seeman with another director.
